Splash out on a cruise - it's brilliant!

Only a few years ago I would never have considered going on a cruise, it just wasn't me. In 2017 – one of my friend persuaded me to take the plunge, not literally. I have to say, I'm a convert, even an evangelist! I think cruising is brilliant!!. Today these new ships are like floating resorts with everything you could ever need – as well as often bringing a new destination to your doorstep, sometimes every day. My favourite things were not only the entertainment and the fantastic service, but also making so may new friends onboard. Some of which I still keep in touch with. It's a great choice of holiday for a single person too. I met several travellers going solo. I also met a few 'cruise buddies' who simply became friends on previous voyages and just kept meeting up for more.

Cruising is still popular with the older crowd but the age range is much more varied these days. If you don't particularly enjoy having loads of kids running around, avoid the school holidays or go for a more adults focus trip, there are lots around. If you feel like splashing out and taking the grandchildren - choose one with lots of activities and kids clubs. Which ever you pick, you will always be able to find a quiet sanctuary or whatever you fancy, somewhere onboard.
